KRK
Our next stop is the town of Krk - difficult to pronounce but amazing to see!
It was the center of the island thousands of years ago - as written on the stone inscription from the 3rd/4th century AD - and still is today. It has ancient foundations with Illyric, Greek, Roman and Slavic elements built in the walls, towers, Frankopan fortification, Roman thermal spa, mosaic, Early Christian cathedral, etc. As if that is not enough, there is also a basilica from the 14th century and palace from the 15th
century.
In the vicinity of the town of Krk there is Glavotok with Franciscan monastery and old Glagolitic monuments.
